What equipment is available at each location?
The Hubert Fry Center at the Tennessee Riverpark offers stand up paddleboards, kayaks, mountain bikes, road bikes, and cruiser bikes.
The Chester Frost Park location offers stand up paddleboards and kayaks.
When are the rental locations open for the season?
In 2019, we will be open starting April 16 through the end of September:
Hours for April 16 – May 19 and the month of September:
Friday & Saturday: 11a – 7p
Sunday: 12p – 7p
Hours for May 19 – Aug 30
Thursday, Friday, Saturday, & Monday: 11a – 7p
Sunday: 12p – 7p
When is last call for rentals?
The last rental leaves one hour before close.
How do I make a reservation?
Give us a call or drop us a message here, and we’ll set up the rest. Due to availability, full-suspension mountain bike rentals require advance notice of at least 24 hours.
What is the minimum age to participate?
Ages 14 and up for all solo watercraft
Ages 10 and up in the front of a tandem
Chester Frost Park:
Ages 12 and up for all solo watercraft
Ages 8 and up in the front of a tandem
Do I need any experience to rent?
No! We can accommodate nearly all levels of skill and fitness. If you’re new to paddling, Chester Frost’s smooth flatwaters are the best place for new paddlers to learn. Our staff are trained to provide appropriate instruction prior to departure, and we will be available to assist on the water if necessary.
Will rentals staff help carry boats and/or paddleboards to the water?
Yes. Our staff will assist in carrying boats to and from the water.
What is the largest group size you can accommodate?
We can usually handle up to 12 people on the water at a time with a combination of paddleboards and kayaks. Please call ahead if you want to make a reservation for a larger group.
For group bike rental, contact us to ensure availablility.
What are the weight restrictions for kayaks and paddleboards?
We have a variety of stand up paddleboards can handle up to 300 lbs. Our kayak selection includes boats that will hold up to 400 lbs.
How stable are the paddleboards?
The Hobie Mirage Eclipse is the most stable paddleboard we offer due to the width and length. It’s also unique due to the pedal drive system that doesn’t require a paddle. It has a weight limit of 275 lbs.
The Boardworks Ruckus is a great all-around board for kids and first-timers. Boardworks rates this board to 215 lbs for novice paddlers, 235 lbs for intermediate, and 265 lbs for those with experience.
The Boardworks Raven Inflatable board is great touring board for those who want to efficiently cover longer distances on the water. Boardworks rates the Raven to 265 lbs for novice paddlers, 290lbs for intermediate, and 305 lbs for advanced.
May I take boats, paddleboards, and/or bikes off-site?
Yes! Please contact us for day and half-day rates. Deposit required for off-site bookings. Overnight bookings and pricing available upon request.
Do you provide racks to transport bikes/watercraft off-site?
Currently, you must provide approved means of transporting rental equipment. Contact us for specifications and rack approval.
Military, Student, College, and Group discounts?
Yes! We offer discounts with presentation of a Military ID, Student ID, or groups of 8+. Group rates available by request.
